چکیده

Biomimetic Soft Robots The combination of photo-thermal effect Au and the mismatch between thermal expansion coefficients LDPE film PI adhesive has enabled design sandwich-structured photo-responsive PI/Au/LDPE nanocomposite film. Thanks to its dexterous geometry design, stable reversible actuation behavior, remote precise driven mode, biomimetic soft robots with pre-engineered functionality complex locomotion have been devised. More details can be found in article 2100012 by Li Yu, Qian Wang, Xianbao co-workers.

Structured light enables biomimetic swimming and versatile locomotion of photoresponsive soft microrobots.

Microorganisms move in challenging environments by periodic changes in body shape. In contrast, current artificial microrobots cannot actively deform, exhibiting at best passive bending under external fields. Here, by taking advantage of the wireless, scalable and spatiotemporally selective capabilities that light allows, we show that soft microrobots consisting of photoactive liquid-crystal el...

Biomimetic vibrissal sensing for robots.

Active vibrissal touch can be used to replace or to supplement sensory systems such as computer vision and, therefore, improve the sensory capacity of mobile robots. This paper describes how arrays of whisker-like touch sensors have been incorporated onto mobile robot platforms taking inspiration from biology for their morphology and control. There were two motivations for this work: first, to ...
